Recently I’ve come into some financial troubles. I won’t get into the boring details, but I will explain so you know why I’m doing this.
A series of bank, machine, and human errors have resulted in me owing my landlords $2,325.00 for unpaid rent from last year. In order to pay this up front and keep my apartment, I had to take a loan from work, which has resulted in my paychecks being reduced by $400 a month. This sucks, but seems manageable, right?
Well, this whole situation came up two days after my financing for laser eye surgery was finalized. I owe Lasik MD around $4000, and the payments I am supposed to make were to come from the $400 I’ll no longer be earning each month.
I need $2,325 in order to balance everything out and keep myself from defaulting. Instead of pandering, or attempting ‘writing commissions’ which I can’t get myself to do when I *want to*, I’m raffling off my XBOX360 and a couple other prizes. Here’s how it’s going to work:
Five US Dollars ($5.00) gets you one ticket in the draw. Anyone can purchase multiple tickets via donations in multiples of $5.00.
For each ticket, I will hand write your name and email onto a piece of paper and place it into a jar. Upon the draw date, I will have a third party pull names from the jar. The items will be raffled away as follows:
First Three Draws:
A consolation My Little Pony themed keychain, courtesy of the wonderfully talented MasterTortilla27.
Fourth Draw:
A rarely used XBOX360, in fine condition. It IS used, but functions absolutely fine. I have almost never used this console: It was purchased primarily for watching Netflix and DVDs. The exterior is totally fine save for a little dust.
Fifth Draw:
A mint-condition, sealed-in-box San Diego Comic Con Derpy Hooves figurine. This draw will be made not with the normal tickets but from the top ten ticket quantity purchasers. This means the ten people who purchased the most tickets will be eligible for a secondary drawing for the figurine. This raffle will have no impact on the XBOX and Keychain raffles, and vice-versa.
